Obesity today is a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality, and bariatric surgeries such as laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) are increasingly playing a key role in its management. Such operations, however, carry many difficult and sometimes fatal complications, including leaks. This study aims at evaluating the effectiveness of endoscopic stenting in treating gastric leaks post-LSG.

Obesity is on a continuous rise worldwide, and with it, novel bariatric procedures have emerged. The introduction of gastric balloons has opened up a nonsurgical option for patients opting for it. However, they still require some form of sedation and endoscopy for insertion and/or removal.

Ocular trauma is one of the important causes of preventable blindness and visual impairment among children worldwide. Prevalence of pediatric ocular trauma associated with toy guns appear to be on the rise, although they are fully preventable. The purpose of this study is to report ocular trauma secondary to toy-gun pellets in Kuwait.

BACKGROUND Primary nonparasitic splenic cysts (PNSC) are unusual epithelial fluid lesions of the spleen. They are considered congenital cysts and are often discovered incidentally in young people. Larger cysts can be symptomatic and are traditionally managed with splenectomy.

Four lower limb grafts failed, two of which (2/69, 3%) required amputation. Overall, four patients died (3%), one of pulmonary embolism and 3 of severe injuries to major abdominal vessels. 3/10 patients with abdominal vascular trauma died. Mean (SD) follow up period was 4.4 (2) years.

We collected the statistics of the victims affected by explosive injuries in liberated Kuwait during the period March to December 1991. Included were 1679 patients treated at nine different hospitals in Kuwait. As members of a trauma team, we, the plastic surgeons, were involved in the care of 152 victims of explosive injuries admitted at Al-Razi Orthopaedic Hospital.
